I strive to make every lesson a positive and fun experience for the student. I'm very patient, excellent at explaining things at a child's level, and I try to make each child feel relaxed and comfortable. My students will tell you we laugh a lot during their lessons.  However, I can be firm when necessary, but only in a positive way. If a child is having a problem I help them get to the root of it, and teach them the proper way to practice. That being said, I do expect students to practice and to be motivated to do so at home. Positive reinforcement goes a long way! Piano lessons for one member of the family must involve the whole family!  I understand that every student will have busy weeks when they haven't practiced much or at all. It happens and we just go on from there. But if it becomes a habit, that's when we need to work together to get the student back on track.  There are lots of ways to motivate a student. I can help!

My students have included people with  disabilities, professional musicians who want to grow, adults fulfilling a lifelong wish, and more. Each person's progress is their own and is not measured against other students.
